“Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with the Lord’s people who are in need.”
Romans 12: 10-13A
Dear Friends,
Romans 12 concludes with the Apostle Paul’s exhortation, “Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” How can we possibly stand up to the evil in this world? The prescription was given a few verses earlier: “Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.” This is our encouragement to the many Christians in India who face the evil of intolerance and persecution in their daily lives. Indeed, it is an encouragement for all of us.
In the last two years, IEM has been able to expand its ministry into some new states of India. One of those states is the northern, mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh (HP). Pastor Rajinder from HP is now working with IEM and participating in our ministry there. Recently, he shared the testimony of a new believer, a woman named Mala. She came from a Hindu background and came to faith through her sister-in-law. Since then, God has blessed her with a child, something she had desired for many years. She is now attending Pastor Rajinder’s church and is growing in her faith. Please pray for her as her husband is still not a believer and he is continuing in his Hindu beliefs. We have included a picture of the women’s fellowship from Pastor Rajinder’s church in the insert. God willing, I will be sharing more pictures and testimonies from Himachal Pradesh with you soon.
On our campus in Kerala, our Bible College students are fully immersed in the study of God’s Word. God willing, next April we will be reviving our Leadership Training Institute, a six-week program designed to teach biblical principles to working professionals in the community. For many years, this was a successful program in Kerala, and we are excited to be able to bring it back next year. Please pray for the IEM team that is organizing and planning this ministry.
We are looking forward to having a fellowship dinner in Southern California on October 25th. This will be the first such program we’ve held in the region since COVID. We will be sharing with friends, old and new, what God is doing in India. If you are in Southern California, please plan to join us. God is doing so much in India, and we are grateful that you are part of it. Thank you for all that you do to support God’s work through IEM.
In His Service
