“But God commendeth His LOVE toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” ~ Romans 5:8
Beloved Ones in Christ,
We are indeed grateful to all our prayer partners who are helping us share God’s love with the people of India. IEM’s goal has always been to win the lost, equip the saints, and send them forth to fulfill the Great Commission of our Lord (Matthew 28:19-20). Thank you to everyone who has responded to our year-end video. If you haven’t seen it yet, it is on our IEM website and gives you a visual summary of what has been happening in India.
We are continuing our food kit distribution ministry, which has been a great blessing to many families. It has caused many people to respond to the Gospel. When the Covid restrictions end, we would like to gather all the families for a follow-up outreach. One family that received a food kit was Soji Thomas’ family. She recently graduated from college, but due to the pandemic there are no jobs available for her. She is living at home with her mother and father. Her father lost his job due to the lockdown, and her mother has some physical ailments; so they were very grateful to receive IEM’s food kit to help them make it through this difficult time.
We are praying that we can open up our campus again by June, God willing, for the coming school year. Our Bible College students completed their online classes last month, but they are anxious to return to the campus for their in-person education. The children of IEM are doing okay in their homes, and we continue to help them. Please pray that the Indian government will allow us to open our campus when it is safe, so they may return.
Despite the challenges of this last year, the work of our Lord is going well. He has been gracious in opening doors in various places. We are especially encouraged by the believers in Mumbai; they have begun a prayer chain which is encouraging all of them in their faith.
As the Lord enables, Dayan and I are praying about returning to India sometime this year to see the campus reopen. Please continue praying for the people of India. We love you all very much and remember you in our prayers.
Yours in His Service,
G.V. Mathai
