“Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.”
Matthew 5:7
Beloved Ones,
We are so thankful to have faithful ministry partners who are committed to showing God’s mercy to the people of India. So many people are suffering in that country due to poverty. The Coronavirus pandemic has given rise to an even greater need for mercy ministries. By God’s grace we are accomplishing much in the name of our Lord.
A significant mercy ministry that we have begun in the last year has been our food kit program in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh. Our evangelist began distributing IEM food kits amongst a community of brick factory workers and their families. These laborers work in very difficult conditions, and their wages and living conditions are very meager. In some families the children even work at the factory. We have been able to share the love of Jesus, along with the food kits, and the families are very grateful. We are praying about the possibility of providing blankets to these families to help them through the cold winter months.
We are continuing to develop the Bible College curriculum in anticipation of the new school year beginning in June. Please pray that we will get a good class of students from the northeast and other states. Also please pray that the Coronavirus will continue to subside, and that the Indian government will allow our campus in Kerala to reopen in time for the new school year. This would make our students and faculty very happy.
Thank you for continuing to uphold me (G.V.) in your prayers as I am dealing with ongoing health issues. God has been gracious, and we are so thankful for each one of you. We love you all very much and remember you in our prayers–that the Lord would richly bless you and minister to all your needs.
Yours in His Service,
G.V. Mathai and Dayan Mathai
