January 2021

Dear Ones in Christ,

We pray that you and your family are doing well with the dawn of a New Year. Because of Christ we can look forward to 2021 with eyes of hope. We have gone through many trials in 2020, but we pray that things will improve soon and get back to normal.

Remember the words of our Lord in John 14:18-19, “I will not leave you comfortless; I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world will see me no more; but you see me. Because I live, you shall live also.” He will continue to protect and provide for us.

Despite the many challenges of the Covid-19 pandemic, the work of our Lord in India is going forward by God’s grace. There are 29 states in India, and over the years we have had students come from 19 states to attend our Bible College. We have graduated 800 students who returned to the north and northeastern states of India (like Assam, Manipur, Nagaland), and 200 students from Kerala State in South India. Still my heart’s desire is to have ministries in all 29 states. IEM has 15 churches in Mumbai, and the believers are growing in the Lord.

Our Bible College students will be completing their online classes this month, and we thank the Lord for enabling them to do so. The children are doing well as they stay in various homes, and IEM provides help and groceries to those families. We appreciate your prayers and support for the children, students, and pastors/evangelists.

As we have said, the Covid-19 pandemic has caused the people in India to have limited public transportation and very little food in their homes, so we are continuing our food distribution program. We have given almost 900 grocery kits to many poor and suffering families since June of 2020, and we thank the Lord for providing the funds to do so

The Lord is faithful, and He will be with us in 2021. We don’t need to worry about the future. As the hymn says, “I know Who holds tomorrow, and I know Who holds my hand!”

Please continue to pray for the ministry in India, and that we will soon be able to open up our campus. We are indeed grateful for your faithful support. May God bless you!

Yours in His Service,

G.V. Mathai
