“The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22 -23
Dear Friends,
One of the great assurances of scripture is that the Lord is always able to meet our needs and help us in times of crisis. We are taught, and we experience throughout our lives, that His love for us is steadfast and His mercies never end. This promise is a daily reminder to face life’s challenges with confidence.
One of the great challenges we have faced, since the COVID crisis, was building up the IEM Bible College and recruiting new students. By God’s grace, this year we now have sufficient students to fulfill the three-year degree program. This is an answer to prayer, and it is exiting to see new students coming from different parts of India. This year, we have students from 12 Indian states, and one of our returning students is from the neighboring country of Nepal. The most encouraging aspect is that most of our new students are coming to study on our campus thanks to the encouragement they received from Pastors that we support in various states. God willing, these students will graduate and return to their villages to build up the church and preach God’s word.
In 2020, when COVID was impacting the entire world, public transportation, businesses, and grocery stores were shut down. In response, we launched a food kit distribution program in the State of Kerala to bring necessary food items to poor and desperate people. Because the need was so great in other parts of India as well, we expanded the program to other states where IEM has ministry, such as Punjab, Maharashtra, Odisha and U.P. Recently I appointed Jacob K, one of our leaders in Kerala, to be the national coordinator of the food kit distribution program. He will help ensure that this wonderful mercy ministry continues to meet the needs of the poor in the most remote parts of the country, and that God’s love will be demonstrated through His people. Recently, some of our Bible College Students assisted Jacob and our Kerala team as they traveled to a remote mountain area to distribute food kits. There are pictures of this ministry effort in the insert. Jacob is pictured distributing kits in the bottom row, middle picture.
These vibrant ministries are possible because of your prayers and financial support. Thank you for helping us demonstrate God’s love and mercy to the people of India. As the ministry grows, we will continue to hold on to the Lord’s steadfast love and mercy. May God bless you and your family.
In His Service,
Dayan Mathai
