“Inasmuch as you have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, you have done it unto Me.”
Dear Ones in Christ,
The eyes of the world have been focused on India for the last two months as a surge in Covid cases has plagued the nation. The problem has been compounded by the lack of hospital beds and oxygen for patients. The ongoing lockdowns have been devastating to the poor and middle-class families throughout India.
It is a very sad situation. Many women have become widows; many children have become orphans. At this time when India is in such dire need, I am once again reminded of the words of Jesus in Matthew 25:40. Helping the physical needs of these desperate people, and comforting them with the Word of God, is a service unto the Lord. We rejoice in the fact that God is working. Please continue praying for the people of India during this crisis.
We are very thankful and excited that sufficient support has come in for us to expand our food kit program which we have been doing in Kerala, South India for the last year. Now we are working with an IEM evangelist in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP), North India, to start food distribution there as well. We started the program in May, and people in the villages have responded well.
Please continue to uphold the Bible College students and Children’s Home children in your prayers. Because of Covid, we still cannot open our campus; but the Bible College students are continuing with online instruction, and we are thankful for our faculty and staff who are making it happen. We are financially supporting our children and helping them with their various needs.
We thank the Lord that our friends have stepped up to help some of the suffering families in India. We love you very much and remember you all in our prayers!
Yours in His Service,
G.V. and Dayan Mathai
