Dear Friends,
Whenever I speak with our Christians workers and pastors who are serving in various parts of India, I often wonder how I can encourage them as they face many difficulties. Some of them are facing persecution, and are dealing with government restrictions and penalties regarding the exercise of their Christian faith. But I have to remember to let the words of Scripture be the ultimate comfort to these servants of God. As Peter reminds us, God will provide the strength we need to serve so that He may be praised and receive all the glory. We rely only on Him.
In the state of Rajasthan, in northern India, IEM has supported Christian workers for several decades. These workers have faithfully been engaged in church and school ministries that build up the Christian community in the state. One of these Christian workers has been serving with IEM for more than 40 years. Recently, he suffered a heart attack, but thankfully he is recovering. Please pray for this pastor as he still desires to serve the Lord in Rajasthan and continue his ministry.
Last year, IEM began supporting a pastor in the mountainous northern state of Himachal Pradesh (HP). He is leading a church, and is excited about implementing IEM mercy ministries in his state, including food kit and blanket distribution. There are not many Christians in HP, but they are faithful. Please pray that the Church in HP continues to grow and be blessed. We have included recent photos in the insert from the IEM ministries in Rajasthan and HP.
I’m looking forward to being in the Pacific Northwest at the beginning of March for our annual fellowship dinner. I will be meeting with pastors and congregations to share what the Lord is doing in India through IEM. I am so grateful that I will be joined by two of my sisters, Sheela and Mishal (and family). My sisters and their families are an integral part of this ministry, and I’m excited for people to hear their testimonies from their recent trip to India.
