Matthew 28:19
Dear Friends,
My father loved to preach on the Great Commission. In his sermons, Dad always reminded people that the Great Commission begins with God's proclamation that He has all authority in heaven and on earth. Because of this, we can have supreme confidence in preaching the Gospel and making disciples.
Part of the Lord's command is to baptize new followers of Christ. Recently, I asked our Coordinators in different parts of India to share stories of recent baptisms that have happened in their regions. It was a joy to hear many testimonies and see pictures of many new believers being baptized. One testimony came from a new believer in Uttar Pradesh named Seema. She was experiencing spiritual distress in her life, which caused physical ailments and impacted her family as well. Her husband left the family, and her situation was very desperate. A Christian sister from one of our churches in U.P. shared the Good News of Jesus Christ with her, and she believed and put her trust in Jesus. Recently, Seema was baptized in a river, and now she is attending church regularly.
Last week we had a wonderful IEM Board Meeting in Southern California. We are blessed to have faithful, mission-minded leaders from various parts of the country serving in our Board. They help IEM accomplish its mission, and we prayed together and strategized about how we can increase God's kingdom in India.
God willing, I will be leaving for India next week. I will arrive in Kerala in time to inaugurate the new academic year at our Bible College. Please pray for the new students that are coming to our campus for the first time, and for the returning students as well. While in India, I will be planning our 2026 Christian Workers Conference. Also, I am excited that I will be traveling to the states of Odisha and Uttar Pradesh to visit our evangelists and ministry centers there. I look forward to reporting back to you about my trip soon. Thank you for your continued prayers and financial support. Together, we are working to fulfill the Great Commission.
In His Service,
Dayan Mathai
