“They that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Isaiah 40:31

Beloved Ones in Christ,

The prophet Isaiah encourages us that when we wait for the Lord and His will, we will not only avoid fatigue, we will gain new strength. This is possible because the Lord our Creator does not become weary or tired. (Isaiah 40:28)

I reflected on this passage as I was prayerfully considering if my health would allow me to take my annual trip to India this year. My last trip was January-March of 2020, just before the Coronavirus pandemic hit. Although I am weakened in my body, I feel compelled to make another journey to India to see how the work of the Lord is progressing. I will be traveling with my son, Dayan. God willing, we will be leaving on June 9th and returning on June 28th. There is much activity on the horizon as our campus opens for a new incoming Bible College class and also for the children who will be returning to our Children’s Home.

Please continue to pray for our administration and staff as they prepare the campus for reopening. As you might imagine, since we were shut down during Covid, the campus needs much maintenance and repair. We are anticipating a small group of students for the Bible College. We are excited that some of the students will be coming from the northern state of Uttar Pradesh through the influence of our evangelist, Robin, who is working in that state. When we open up the Children’s Home, some of the children will be returning children, and some will be new to our ministry. We are excited that we will be able to see these programs   re-launch during the time that we are in India.

This month we had our annual IEM Board Meeting here in Southern California. We are so grateful to have dedicated board members from different parts of the country give of their time and talents to further the work of our Lord in India. Please continue to uphold our Board and the ministry of IEM in your prayers.

I pray you will be strengthened in the Lord as you wait upon Him and do His will. We love you and thank God for each one of you.

Yours in His Service,

G.V. Mathai and Dayan Mathai
