November 2020

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and all that is within me bless His holy name.”
~ Psalm 103:1

Beloved Ones in Christ,

In the Scripture we read in Psalm 46:10 “Be still and know that I am God.”  During the last few months, the people in America have been wondering what the future will hold regarding the presidential election. There is much anxiety, frustration, and uncertainty. The night of the election, Psalm 46:10 ministered to my heart, and it is an encouragement to all Christians. Though the Coronavirus pandemic continues to spread, though the nations rage with war, we as children of God have the comforting words from our Heavenly Father: “Be still and know that I am God…I will be exalted among the nations.”

During this Thanksgiving season, we thank God for America. We thank Him for our families, and we thank Him for our churches. How wonderful it is that the U.S. has set aside one day to be thankful to the Lord for His goodness and mercy, and I hope that tradition will never be changed! As you enjoy Thanksgiving with your family, please remember the ministry of IEM.

We have now distributed almost 800 grocery kits to poor and suffering families in Kerala, South India. We have also been able to help some Christian families in Mumbai. One recipient is Pooja Manoj, a young widow with two school-age girls. She works at a clothing store, but due to the Coronavirus, her hours have been greatly reduced. She was very happy to receive some help from IEM. The enclosed insert, sent to us by our staff in India, contains additional pictures and stories of some of those who have recently received grocery kits. We are most grateful to all of you for your sacrificial giving and fervent prayers. The people of India are really grateful to you for remembering them in their struggle, and the Lord has promised to reward you for helping the poor and needy (Psalm 41:1).

During the Coronavirus crisis, the Bible College classes are being continued online, and the children in our Children’s Home have been placed in different homes, where IEM is helping them. Let us keep praying that this pandemic will end soon.

As long as the Lord gives us health and life, let us do our utmost in fulfilling the Great Commission. Please continue praying for all the evangelists and pastors in various states of India as they strive to reach the lost with the redeeming grace of our Lord Jesus Christ.

We love you very much and uphold you in our prayers.

Yours in His Service,

G.V. Mathai
