Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, my servant also will be.
My Father will honor the one who serves Me.  ~ John 12:26

Dear Ones,

As the Covid pandemic continues to affect India, making employment and access to food very difficult, IEM staff have remained steadfast in sharing the hope of Jesus Christ in word and action.  We continue to have our outreach workers sharing the Gospel in villages, our Bible College students continue to study online and become equipped for evangelism, and our grocery kit program is growing and serving a great need in India. So many millions lack access to basic food supplies.  It is our joy to partner with you all, faithfully serving our King by serving others and meeting needs. As Jesus’ words from John’s Gospel passage reminds us, God has promised to honor those who serve others in Jesus’ name.

As you know, IEM has begun a food kit distribution program in North India in the state of Uttar Pradesh (UP). Thus far we have been able to provide more than 100 families with a food kit to sustain them for one month with basic food supplies. Based on the overwhelming need and the fact that it has been well received, we are praying about expanding the program.

Our evangelist in Uttar Pradesh is leading this ministry, and in September he distributed food kits to a slum community called Gandhi Ashram. Many in this community have jobs picking up waste and recyclables as their only income. The people were very excited and happy to receive the food kits.

Throughout the pandemic, Kerala has been one of the hardest-hit states. Thankfully, our staff and workers have been protected from the virus so far. There is much hope that November will bring relief from the lockdowns, and we are praying about opening our campus sometime next year. Please continue to pray for the Bible College students, as many of them are engaged in ministry along with their online studies.

Thank you so much for your continued partnership with the Lord’s work in India. The promise from Scripture is that the Lord will honor the work that we do for the Gospel. We love you very much and remember you in our prayers.

Yours in His Service,

G.V. Mathai and Dayan Mathai
