Isaiah 40:9
Dear Friends,
In May, the IEM Board gathered in Southern California for a weekend of fellowship and meetings. Before our board meeting, we received a devotional from Dr. Tom Finley, board member and retired seminary professor. Dr. Finley taught us from Isaiah 40, that we who are called to share the Good News must allow the Lord to speak through our voices. When we are witnesses of the Good News, we should lift up our voices and not be afraid.
As we heard the exhortation from Dr. Finley, we thought about the Christians who are proclaiming Jesus in North India. We need to continue to encourage them as they face intolerance and persecution for their faith. As you will see in the pictures in the insert, IEM is supporting pastors and Christian’s workers in several northern states. Despite the difficult conditions, the local churches there are growing, and they are a blessing to their communities. Please continue to pray for these believers and their families in North India.
As I mentioned above, we had a wonderful time of fellowship at our annual board meeting. IEM is blessed to have board members who have faithfully served the ministry for many years. All of the board members worked side by side with my parents in this ministry and most of them have been to India to see the work there. We thank the Lord that he has provided us leaders who use their wisdom and love for the benefit of the work in India. We have included some pictures from our gathering in the insert. Please pray for our board as we make decisions on the stewardship of IEM.
God willing, I’ll be leaving for India on May 31. I will be in Kerala for the start of the next school year at the Bible College, and I will meet with all our faculty and staff. I also will be speaking at the graduation ceremony for the Leadership Training Institute, our 6-week adult Bible training program. I also plan to travel to three states in North India: Rajasthan, Punjab, and Himachal Pradesh. There, I will be visiting IEM workers and pastors to see their work and encourage them in their ministry. I appreciate your prayers for me as I journey through India. I’m so grateful for your partnership in this ministry as we lift up our voices together.
In Him,
