Dear Ones in Christ,
What a joy to know that we are united together in presenting the Gospel in the country of India. The psalmist extolls this unity and reminds us that it is pleasing to the Lord.
I arrived in Kerala, South India, on June 11th for two weeks of ministry. There was much activity on the campus as we prepared for the Bible College to begin on the 19th. Since January we have been working on beautifying the campus by painting all the buildings and doing some much-needed repairs. Everything was completed before the rainy season, and we are thankful the campus is looking so nice in time for the new school year. I had meetings with all faculty and administrators last week, and they are eager to start the new program and curriculum.
We are encouraged that a new class of students came from various states of India, including a state we have never reached before called Jammu and Kashmir–the northernmost state of India. We had an opening prayer service before classes began. Please pray for these new students, as it is their first time away from home, and as they adjust to the study schedule and life in Kerala.
When I arrived on the campus last week, I received some bad news about our Children’s Home.
The Indian government has passed several regulations in recent years which restrict the ability of Christian organizations from operating children’s homes. However, we continue to help about 30 children through our Helping Hands after-school tutoring program.
Although my dad was very disappointed that he was not able to travel with me on this trip, I have been able to have video calls with him every day to keep him informed and to get insights from him regarding the ministry. We love you all and appreciate your continued prayers and support. I am very excited about what the Lord is doing here in India.
