“He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:1-2

Dear Ones in Christ,

One of my dad’s favorite psalms is Psalm 91, and he has committed it to memory. We have been quoting it to him this week as he has been admitted to the hospital. The doctors are monitoring his lungs and his heart due to his congestive heart failure condition. During this time, we hold on to the proclamation of the psalmist that the Lord will be his refuge and his fortress in whom we will trust. We are thankful Dad is in stable condition. Please pray that he will continue to improve and gain strength.

At our campus in Kerala, South India, our Leadership Training Institute (LTI) launched its second session of the year in October. We are thankful that almost 80 students from all over Kerala are attending this six-week Leadership Institute Bible training. The students are typically working professionals who have taken time off from their career jobs to study the Bible on our campus. It is our prayer that our LTI graduates will return to their homes and workplaces with a zeal for sharing their faith with others. Over the years, many of our LTI graduates have started Bible studies in their homes as a result of their training.

My nephews, Ethan and Luke Montgomery (Len & Mishal’s twin sons), made an excellent video of their recent trip to Mumbai and Kerala. We are fortunate to have the skills of these two young film makers, who recently graduated from Biola University film school, to help document IEM’s ministry in India. This video was shared at our Fellowship Dinner in Ohio.

Thank you for your continued prayers for my dad’s health and recovery. We are so thankful for your love and friendship. As we pray for each other, let us also remember to pray for the situation in Israel and all those who are suffering in that region.

May God bless you,

Dayan Mathai
